Cagwait, Surigao del Sur – The North Eastern Mindanao State University (NEMSU) Cagwait Campus hosted a Direction Setting Session cum Designees (New and Redesignated) Meeting on February 21, 2025. The event was graced by NEMSU President Dr. Nemesio G. Loayon, who outlined the university’s Vision, Mission, Core Values, and the 8-Point Strategic Directional Agenda.

In his address, Dr. Loayon emphasized the crucial role of research in fulfilling NEMSU’s vision as a Research University, particularly within the academic community. He encouraged the attendees to embrace research-driven approaches in their respective fields, reinforcing that knowledge and expertise must be continuously enhanced through research and scholarly activities. Dr. Mick Mars P. Silvano articulated the significance of the event, emphasizing its role in setting clear directions for the university’s growth and development.

The President also introduced the upcoming ICT Unit Programs, which are the result of efforts from the ICT Unit, aligning with technology, innovation, and sustainable development. These programs, once finalized, will be launched soon and are expected to contribute significantly to the university’s modernization efforts. Highlighting the university’s Core Values—Compassion, Accountability, Responsiveness, Excellence, and Service (CARES)—Dr. Loayon urged faculty members and administrative personnel to uphold these values in their roles. He also extended his congratulations to the newly designated and redesignated officials, encouraging them to actively support and contribute to NEMSU’s continuous growth and development.

As a Message for Commitment, Dr. Rozette Mercado, Campus Director of NEMSU Cagwait, extended heartfelt thanks to the University President for his presence and support in this activity. Following her message, the distribution of designation orders was conducted for the attendees. The session concluded with a renewed commitment from the attendees to align their efforts with NEMSU’s strategic goals, ensuring that the university remains a leading institution in research, education, and service.
