Tandag City, January 19, 2024 — Top executives of the Northern Eastern Mindanao State University (NEMSU) convened to discuss the crucial next steps for the eagerly anticipated launch of the College of Medicine at the Tandag Campus with its aim to expand its academic offerings and contribute to the healthcare sector.
One of the key highlights of the meeting was to prioritize the submission of necessary compliance documents and requirements. The discussions centered around aligning with the guidelines set by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).
To ensure a seamless and efficient compliance process, the executives formed two dedicated teams. Led by Ms. Catherine F. Salomon, the Vice President for Administration and Finance, Team A will spearhead the submission of compliance requirements to the DBM. Simultaneously, Team B, under the leadership of Dr. Maria Lady Sol A. Suazo, the Vice President for Academic Affairs, will handle the compliance requirements for CHED. This includes the submission of the academic framework, faculty manual, student manual, and the faculty development program.
Further, both teams committed to providing progress updates during a follow-up meeting scheduled for March. The committees have set an ambitious yet achievable target to complete all necessary compliance requirements by June 2024.
