2023 NATIONAL WOMEN’S MONTH CELEBRATION LAUNCHING PROGRAM

The NEMSU President, Dr. Nemesio G. Loayon gracefully extended his message during the launching of National Women's Month today, March 1, 2023 at NEMSU audio-visual center.

Gracing the event to inspire the participants in his message: “Today, we celebrate the countless women who have fought tirelessly and courageously for equality, justice, and opportunity particularly here in our beloved institution- NEMSU.  We also reaffirm our commitment to advancing the rights and opportunities for women especially in all the positions which our University has been hiring.  In our pursuit for PRIME-HRM initiatives, we do not forget to integrate the ideals and principles of women empowerment and equal opportunity among others.

The full participation of women is a foundational tenet of a progressive and dynamic University.  Women continue to lead as advocates for reproductive rights, champions of gender equality, and LGBTQI+ equality.  Throughout history, women have opened the doors of opportunity for subsequent generations of dreamers and doers.

NEMSU is lucky enough to have women who form part of the top management of the University. Our 3 vice presidents are all women. That’s why, even CHED Regional Director George Colorado, dubbed them as Loayon’s Little Angels. Deeper than that, it symbolizes women empowerment and equal opportunity among others.

As community leaders in the academe, women help lead our University to a gender-responsive government agency. As innovators, entrepreneurs, and essential workers of NEMSU, they represent the very best of the University.

Let us continue to have a University established upon a profound but simple idea that all people are created equal.

My administration and leadership is committed to upholding that idea and to making its promise real for everyone here in NEMSU.  Our GAD Focal Person is always ready to assist us to advance gender equity.

The Office of the NEMSU President promotes the rights and opportunities of women across campuses, which outlines my Administration’s commitment to equal access to for women, including our students.

My Administration will continue to defend women’s rights to ensure that all NEMSU employees, regardless of their gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, or income, have the ability to make the choices that are right for themselves and their families.

This month, as we continue our work to advance gender equity and equality, let us celebrate the contributions of women. Good afternoon and Mabuhay!”
