The Move toward Institutional Sustainability Assessment (ISA)

In spite having achieved the most numbered of accredited programs by Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) among SUCs in Caraga, Surigao del Sur State University is showing no signs of resting on its nest.
In this continuing pursuit for academic excellence, the university is now moving to submit itself to the Commission on Higher Education’s (CHED) Institutional Sustainability Assessment (ISA) accreditation on September 2018.
A training and seminar workshops was called for by the Commission on Higher Education- Regional Office (CHED-RO) for the four State Universities and Colleges in Caraga Region which was held at the Kansilad Beach Resort, Lianga, Surigao del Sur last May 2-4, 2018.
The seminar workshops were participated in by four SUCs of Caraga Region namely: CSU, SSCT, ASCAT and SDSSU.
Speakers were from the four SUCs to wit : Dr. Mary Sylette Gunigundo, the CEPS, QA Division, OIQAG discusses on the topic overview of the ISA Framework. Dr. Rita Sescar, SVEPS, QA Division, OIQAG talks on the ISA Process: Pre-Visit to Post Visit Roles of CHEDRO & OIQAG, Preparation for the Visit Dr. Francis This Cimene delved on the topic The ISA SED, while Dr. Emmanuel James Pattaguan vividly discusses on the topic Writing a Self-Evaluation Document supplemented with a workshops.
In ISA, the institution will be assessed based on the Five Key Result Areas: KRA 1: Governance and management; 2: Quality of teaching and learning; KRA 3: Quality of professional exposure, research and creative works; KRA 4: Support to students; KRA 5: Relations with the community.
