DOST Regional Director, Dir. Dominga D. Mallonga invited SDSSU for 2018 DOST Annual Regional Science and Technology Week. In response to the said invitation, SDSSU administration sent faculty researchers such as Dr. Ana Marie T. Acevedo, Dr. Jocelyn B. Panduyos, Dr. Roxan G. Eupena, Amor Salinas, Liaflora Orcullo and Dr. Bernardita Quevedo to participate and witness the celebration of the department.

Dr. Quevedo of SDSSU Lianga Campus presented her project proposal during the celebration. The participants accepted her proposal and made some corrections for enhancement of her paper.

In the end, the celebration of the department has been memorable since it was attended by known and steamed guests from agencies nationwide.
