NEMSU commenced its manual revision workshop. Set in Cantilan from February 27 to March 2, 2024, the event gathered its academic leaders from across the system and underscored the university's commitment to its endeavor.
After 12 years, the academe embarked on a journey to revise its foundational blueprint, setting the university for growth across student, faculty, and administrative domains. Dr. Miralles, in his welcoming remarks, articulated the gravity of the task at hand, emphasizing the dichotomy between success and failure and the imperative of triumph.
Dr. Dela Cerna realigned participants with their roles in the revision process, laying the groundwork for collaborative engagement. Dr. Salvaleon, meanwhile, elucidated the strategic framework guiding the write shop, highlighting the significance of gap analysis, legal compliance, and transparent methodologies.
As participants immersed themselves in the revision process, focusing on their assigned manuals, the workshop bore witness to a sense of camaraderie and shared purpose. The evening's fellowship program provided a respite from the day's rigors, fostering an environment of positivity and resilience.
After the initial instructions on the first day, each group delved into manual revisions throughout the remainder of the five-day workshop. In his visit, the University President made remarks to ensure that the proposed changes to be embedded in the manuals are aligned with the existing legal provision of the country and the mandates of the Commission on Higher Education and other regulating agencies. The collaborative efforts culminated on the final day, where groups presented their reports to members of the academic community.
Following this intensive endeavor, the institution plans to showcase the outputs in a public forum involving stakeholders before submitting them for endorsement to the board.
With eyes set firmly on the horizon, the university remains steadfast in its mission to effect change through the revision of its foundational documents, signaling a transformative chapter in its history.
