To begin the first day of the ASEAN Month Celebration, the North Eastern Mindanao State University (NEMSU) – Tandag Campus marked an ASEAN-themed Flag Parade and Flag-Raising ceremony today, August 18, at the CAS Grounds, highlighting regional unity as students, faculty, and staff came together, donning national costumes from various ASEAN countries.

Each college and department represented assigned ASEAN countries through their attire, with the College of Arts and Sciences embodying Vietnam, the College of Business and Administration representing Brunei, and the College of Engineering and Technology channeling Indonesia. The College of Information Technology Education represented Malaysia, while the Colleges of Teacher Education, Law, and Medicine personified Laos, Cambodia, and Thailand, respectively.

In his message during the flag-raising ceremony, Dr. Floresito D. Calub, OIC Campus Director, emphasized that the ASEAN celebration promotes unity beyond national borders. He highlighted that cultural diversity, regional cooperation, and mutual respect are the driving forces that propel the community of nations forward. By embracing these values in line with SDG 4: Quality Education, the university reinforces its commitment to shaping globally aware students who will contribute to building a more united ASEAN community.
