‎North Eastern Mindanao State University (NEMSU) Tandag Campus mentors placed 2nd Runner-Up in Painsayaw (Paindigay sa Sayaw) 2025 after presenting a performance inspired by the traditions of the Sama Badjao community during the opening of the 13th Sangkaan Festival at the Vicente T. Pimentel Jr. Memorial Gymnasium on September 5.

‎With the theme “Pagkabalaan sanan Pagkamalig-on Ipadayon, Para sa Dugang Kalambuan Kanato mga Tandaganon,” the competition featured five participating schools that staged cultural dances showcasing the identity, history, and resilience of the Tandaganon.

‎The NEMSU contingent interpreted Sama Badjao heritage through choreography, costumes, and storytelling to underscore the community’s cultural significance in Tandag City. ‎ ‎Jacinto P. Elpa National High School (JPENHS) won the championship and a ₱60,000 cash prize, while Tandag District 2 finished as first runner-up.
